No room in the Inn

We thought we had the wedding weekend date narrowed down (official date announcement coming soon!).  We had finally found a weekend in late summer/early fall where Virginia City didn't have an event going on that would involve streets being shut down for runaway shitters.  We had confirmed with the reception and ceremony venues that they are available and we felt a rush of ecstaticness at making our goal of getting this done by January 31st.  Yayy!

Next, we had to make sure my precious private cottage suite was available for that weekend.  I will only stay at this place when coming visiting Virginia City.  Not because I am high maintenance, mind you ;) but because VC is haunted as F and all of the historicalness and feelings of "eyes watching you" wherever I go makes me want to take a break from it all at the end of the day. So I only stay at the more modernized, separated cottage suite with small kitchen, etc.  Note to wedding guests: I highly doubt you will feel as creeped out as me, as have the biggest imagination of anyone in the entire universe.

Upon visiting the Tahoe House website, to confirm availability, it became apparent that my cottage was already mysteriously rented out for this one special weekend! How is that possible?! It's not possible, I decided.  I asked Eddie and in my sweet angel voice, "baby? will you please call them to make sure it's not an error??".  I had visions of paying someone off, or at least making threats towards these poor unsuspecting tourists who were about to ruin my wedding.  haha.

When Eddie went to the other room to grab his cell phone, I watched him walk in with head tilted back in loud maniacal laughter.  He finally snapped, I supposed, and so early in the wedding planning process! but all was well, he had just received an email from my mother, stating that she had already checked out the vacancy of the hotel for the weekend that we were looking at.  and, like the fantastic mother of the bride that she is, she put it on hold.  Along with a room for herself and my step-dad Scott.

Stay tuned for emails and phone calls coming soon, my travelers!
