After a long hiatus of not writing about my wedding
planning adventures, it's time to get the show back on the road. The reason for my long over-do and belated
blog post?? I have learned a hard lesson
about wedding planning, "life goes on while you plan your
wedding". It doesn't stop. You can still lose your job, your friends,
and your mind, and the man you love is still there for you and the date of your
betrothal is still drawing near. The
whole point of this blog was to write about the good and the bad and the downright
ugly, so that I could share the "realness" with you all who are not
able to be there with me every day in person (which is, most, almost all of my
friends and family). But some things
have happened that are just too real (read examples from above that seem almost
too over dramatic). For those of you who
know, you know, and for those of you who don't know, you'll find out soon
enough. After a while the painful situations
will all become things we can laugh at, kind of like getting arrested on my
first date with my husband-to-be. :)
Let this be
the most important vow I make before the 29th of August: I WILL
continue to write about my wedding planning adventures in this blog up until
the very end of this long, and crazy, road.
Not just for your benefit (sorry, not sorry) but for my benefit. For the
therapeutic-ness of it all and the joy that reading old journal/blog/diary
entries brings to one upon reading it years down the road. (Which, btw, has been another project of mine
over the last several years, yes people, I have kept every shred of my writing
since the fourth grade and I have been working on “digitizing” it by typing up
every single word for word and detailed cringe-worthy entry.) But that’s a
story for another time.
Let’s continue
on, shall we? Down the merry old path of mine, though it is unique and very
much me, it is still my own personal path to marriage.
My first
project that I want to show off is for my maid-of-honor and bffffff Amy
(Holmes). I have gathered up all of our
pictures from over the years, scanned them all, did my best to edit with Eddie
helping out on photo shop (some things can’t edit out what time and cheap
disposal cameras has done to, for instance, skin tone). I will post the pictures I treasure most on
our wedding page, which is eddieandlindsay.com for those of you who don’t know,
but you really should know by now ;)
Talk soon! I
promise!!
