Hello! Today is Friday, April 17 and this is today's blog'antine, quarantine blog post.
I'm on the Disneyland hold line again! I wasn't able to cancel my dining reservations or lightsaber workshop ticket online. Super frustrating because why are the reservations not automatically canceled since the parks are closed? All well, it looks like today's hold is estimated at 2 hours, which according to previous experiences means I'll be on hold for about 3 hours total. I really shouldn't complain though because Disney does have exceptional customer service. I also shouldn't complain about the privilege I have to even afford Disney. (bummer: have to be on hold with Disney for 3 hours. bonus: at least I'm fortunate to be able to go!)
So, I'm just about half way through the month of April's quarantine blogs. I'm running out of ideas! So this is where the real creative work starts happening. I'm getting a feel for what it would be like to be "professional" writer who has to write everyday for work. What kind of things would you like me to write about? Any requests? Please contact me! I'd love to hear any suggestions. I've been thinking of updating my "daily schedule" that I wrote about here. Ironically, I wrote this blog right before covid-19 really started to affect our daily lives. and I spent a lot of time on that post too! Well, here are the changes to my daily life routines:
- My alarm is always set for 9:30am. I normally get up right away but if Bean is snuggling with me then I might snooze a little bit
- I changed my go-to breakfast from yogurt (too hard to keep fresh yogurt in stock because of drastically cutting down on visits to the grocery store) to frozen waffles and yes some frozen french toast sticks. I usually prepare my waffles with a dollop of almond butter, some chia and flax seeds and a tiny bit maple syrup. I also add in a banana or fresh berries if we have any.
- Since I have a relaxed sleep schedule, I have cut down on caffeine. I don't drink espresso daily and instead op for small cup of normal coffee and drinking tea through out the day.
- I haven't been as good as I could be at getting my day started at a decent time. I have found myself hunched over on the couch, staring at my phone and just letting time get away from me. So some days, I'm motivated and get right to my workout and other days I'm more loungy.
- Still doing my fitbit coach app for daily workouts. I am focused on cardio and HIIT routines and round out the day with a couple of neighborhood walks or yard work. Oh, how I miss my gyrokineses classes!
- Sometimes I put on makeup on after my shower, but most days I don't mess with it.
- My meal during the day is still usually just snacking. I'm not being as diligent as I was before about keeping all of my snacks healthy. I can see how this is affecting me because I've gained 5 pounds since quarantine started. I was trying to be easy on myself at first because my grief for Peanut really zapped my appetite and I actually lost 4 pounds the first week she was gone, but now I've gained that 4 back, plus one more. I think it's time to crack down again.
- The other obvious change to my daily life is taking care of Peanut. Bean doesn't take any meds and she's very healthy with a ton of energy! Over all, a completely different type of life with a cat than I'm used to. We just love her so much but also miss Peanut very much, obviously.
- I don't leave for appointments anymore. All my pscyh appointments are virtual. I've occasionally gone to the funeral home around lunch time to take a quick walk with Eddie downtown, but that's only once or twice a week. That's all I've left the house for. That and going to the humane society to pick up Bean.
- Things have been pretty much the same for us when Eddie gets home from work. We have a good dinner and go for a walk, then settle down in the living room to watch tv and unwind.
- I'm actually super motivated about my skin care lately. I did a "before" shot on day one, and I'm going to take another photo on April 30th to see how big a difference using all my products diligently does for my skin. I worried about all of this stress aging me! I'm also doing a lot more hair masks to try and keep the damage to my hair at a minimum until I can go get it cut and colored again at the salon.
- I'm still struggling a bit with creativity endeavors but I'm not surprised since I'm writing everyday. That's the other change is that I'm sitting at my laptop in the dining room at least one hour per day. For now, this is my full time job and my only source of income. So thank you so much for reading and supporting me! If you click on the advertisements for me, I appreciate it big time! It helps out so much.
So what has changed for you in your daily routine? If you analyze it in detail, like I just did, then you might notice little changes you can make to help yourself out! It was eye-opening for me. and again, if you have any requests for topics for me to write about, please let me know! See you back here tomorrow!
I think of how gratitude seems to clean out the negative thoughts. I notice your kindness and that you are grateful.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's so nice of you to say! I appreciate it :)
