Blog'antine Day 18

Hello! Today is Saturday, April 18 and this is day 18 out of 30 for my quarantine daily blog goal.

My creative energy hit yesterday! Such a big wind of motivation, finally. I think it's the extra fresh air and exercise I'm getting. I spent several hours yesterday working on my collage art. I also made 12 misc greeting cards to sell online or to keep, I'm not sure which. I might use them for mother's day as I think they are very beautiful. I love the feeling I get of warmth and emotion while I'm sitting at my sunny dining room table and picking which details should go where. Ideas flash in my mind and I'm running off to this drawer or that little box to grab just the right element I'm picturing. I try to include pretty flowers and birds into most of my collages because they make me so happy. Even better if I can pass this happiness on to someone else.

We've had several breakthroughs with Bean in the last 24 hours! She finally let Eddie come up to her and pet her and give her attention! So awesome to see her really break down her barriers. She also slept between us last night in the bed instead of just on my side. I think we are well on our way to becoming quite the comfortable little family. Today Eddie purchased supplies to mount and hang the rope and pulley system that he designed to hoist our bird cage up when we go to bed or leave the house. That way it's out of Bean's reach, just in case she decides she wants a closer look at her brother, Stachi the zebra finch.

Today is a sunny, but windy, Saturday. Much better than the mixture of rain and snow we've been getting. Our yard leaf waste pick-up day is Monday so everyone is trying to get their leaves raked up and into the streets but the wind is blowing them everywhere! I'm so glad we didn't wait until the last minute and I'm glad I did all that hard work in the yard last week.

We have tons of goals for the weekend. Well, fun goals mostly. We are still continuing our Harry Potter movie marathon. We have never watched any of them before! Can you believe it? I can't get through more than one per night because they are pretty long. but so far, so good! I've taken online quizzes before to tell me which Hogwarts class I would be in, and I always get Hufflepuff. I feel like I haven't seen a main character yet that is a Hufflepuff and I'm so curious to what the qualities are so I can see if that answer was accurate or not! We finished HP and the Goblet of Fire last night. I believe that's the 4th movie in the series. Are you a HP fan? Do you prefer the books or the movies? Did I screw myself by not reading the books first?

Today Eddie is making homemade hamburger patties and we are going to grill cheeseburgers out back. We have our favorite pretzel buns that we purchase from the local butcher shop, where we also get our meat. Don't forget the beef jerky dip and ritz crackers! I may even drink a beer today- *gasp!* we have a little case of Stella Artois bottles. I also planted some strawberry and mint plants inside to transfer to our garden in a few weeks.

Wow! So, this post is a little scatter-brained. We'll just think of today's quarantine blog as a catching-up conversation between 2 friends :) I hope you're doing well. Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you back here tomorrow!

P.S. in the comments, tell me which Hogwarts house do you belong to?
