Blog'antine Day 26

Hello! Happy Sunny Sunday! Today is April 26 and I only have 5 entries left in my 30 day quarantine blog goal- hooray! Today is going to be a super simple and yummy blog post.

Eddie and I had a very domestic day. We hung a vintage cabinet in our bathroom, I put away my Easter/Springtime/Birthday decorations. Of course, even though I was super careful, Bean sneakily nabbed a piece of Easter grass and I couldn't catch her to grab it from her mouth. Hopefully she'll digest that okay or maybe she spat it out when she hid under our bed. I think I scared her when I saw she had a piece in her mouth and started running towards her to grab it!  Anyway, we finally got around to making hobo pies! Some of my Northern Michigan readers may call them pasties. but, and correct me if I'm wrong, I believe a pasty is more a meat pie? Today we wanted something a little sweeter. I combined a few different recipes I found online. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 2 hobo-pie makers
  • cherry pie filling
  • semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • pre-made pie crust
  • real butter
  • powdered sugar
Directions:

Get a good little camp fire going. Grease both sides in real butter. Lay down one layer of pie crust dough. Scoop in 3 tablespoons of cherries and 1 tablespoon of semi-sweet miniature chocolate chips. Lay the other piece of pie crust dough on top and pinch all the way around the edges. Put over indirect heat in the fire for 5-7 minutes. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top when done! It's a hot chocolaty mess, hence no pictures of the final product, but it's sooo good! See you back here tomorrow!
