Eddie has the rest of this week off so today we are starting off like we do on our Sundays together. He makes what he calls a "mans breakfast" lol which means he uses 3 pans and a toaster oven and of course he made me pancakes. We are watching Mr. Boogedy which is something Eddie used to watch in his childhood. It's pretty goofy.
I forgot to tell you guys yesterday! That I finally set up a little festive photo-shoot for my holiday cards that I'm going to sell this season in my etsy shop. (I posted a special highlights section on my insta stories for the the pinup girl cards) I haven't put them up in the shop yet as I'm trying to decide if I want to sell them individually or in groups. Do you have any suggestions? Anyway, I had fun setting up a little impromptu Christmas area on our dining room table. First I spread out a vintage red table cloth passed down to me from my Nanny. Then I laid out my cards with some other little props such as ribbons and Christmas lightbulbs. (do you guys follow me on twitter? I posted a little video there as well) I had so much fun making these and can't wait to share them with you all! I'm thinking about doing a giveaway at some point as well because I just love sharing my happiness with everyone.
Since I'm adding a dash of Christmas to this post, I thought it'd be fitting to review another past post to celebrate my 5 year blogaverary. Here's a gem I wrote December of 2017. I'm talking about getting through the stress of the holidays while traveling and trying my best to abstain from sugar (spoiler alert: I did not stay away from sugar!) I talk about how well I executed my plans of making cheer for everyone else (ie making and mailing all of my cards, decorating the house, buying all the presents) while not following through with what I need to do for myself. and I hate to say this, but to this day I am still slacking off when it comes to meditating every day. I really should be. I don't know when or how I got out of the habit but I'm thinking I should make the month of November a challenge where I meditate every. single. day. No excuses. I'm kind of inspired by Eddie when he did his daily pushup challenge recently. I think this will be a good way to get through the month and to get closer to myself. I want to be reacquainted with the inner-workings of my mind, as scary as that can be.
What kind of challenges do you make for yourself to achieve goals? Are you the type of person who wants to be alone with their own thoughts or stay distracted from them? I can say that, more than ever, I am constantly trying to escape into my online world where I don't have to worry about the news, the elections, the virus...I can feel myself falling deeper into the addiction of my phone and I know many of us are doing it but I just want to put my intention out there to the universe that I want to be on my phone less. That's why I feel it's important to focus my whole month of November on practicing mindfulness at least 10 minutes a day. Don't worry! I'm still going to blog as well! and I have a surprise for everyone for the month of December! It's going to be epic! Stay tuned....
