It's Friday the 13th, again.

I know I said I was working on feel-good cozy content, and I am. but I just a have to get this doom and gloom out first. Let's reminisce about March 13, 2020.

Friday, March 13 2020 was my 36th birthday and we celebrated at a local speak easy and had a wonderful roaring 20s themed evening. It was the last time for many, many months that we all got together indoors. We shared drinks, lamented over rumors of school closings and couldn't believe that even Disney was shutting down. The next week we had to euthanize Peanut and start our official lock down. Truly hard and lonely times. but we made the best of it.

I feel like we are headed towards another lock down and like I said in my last post, I'm ready to make goals, decorate like crazy, come up with some projects and do lots of baking. I'm still planning to get all of our Christmas decor out and really go all out even if that means there's no room for people to visit because, let's be honest, no one is visiting. and that really sucks but that's what we need to do!

However, we would truly love to use all of the outdoor toys we bought for our Halloween gatherings and have some sort of Yuletide gathering. We plan to setup the outdoor heaters (read this blog to learn more about those), have some fires going to roast chestnuts on and maybe have our garage open for snack tables or a small craft to do with the kids. Even that probably won't be safe and won't happen but a girl can dream.

Today we are having a cozy Sunday and started things off with a nice home cooked breakfast and watched a Hallmark Christmas movie. Now we are working on this years Christmas cards. Have you thought about what cards you are going to be mailing out? I know not everyone does cards anymore but I feel it's more important than ever to send Christmas cheer to as many people as possible in a safe manner. Cards are perfect for that. I now have my pinup girl holiday cards listed on my etsy shop so feel free take a look and get some inspiration or even better, make a purchase! :)

Mean while, many people are going about their lives like there isn't a pandemic. Health care workers have had about enough of our bullshit. I tell you what, I would not want to be sick with this in a hospital right now. I can't imagine how lonely that would be. It's terrifying. and it's not just people going to bars and clubs that are catching covid. Even getting in the car with someone is a risk I won't be taking. People who are wearing masks and washing their hands are still getting it. I just hope we can hold on till the vaccine gets here by the middle of next year.

Please take this seriously. I have a loved one who is sick with covid right now. I know she'll make it. but the worst part of this whole situation is that she is alone. She is sick and alone. She doesn't get to have family feeding her soup or washing her hair. Of course we make visits from outside the door and window and get her things she needs but we can't be there in person as we would like. When you catch covid, you are alone. All by yourself so that others don't catch it. If you are hospitalized, you are under the care of fully PPE covered and exhausted hospital staff. There are no balloons or visitors. You are completely isolated whether at your house or hospital, it's no different than a prison. Hell, even prisoners get more socialization than covid patients.

If you are living alone in this tough time, please reach out. I can't even imagine how lonely that would be. Please hold on just a little longer. If anyone knows someone who lives alone and would benefit from a pick-me-up via some fun mail, please message me! I have so much joy to share, not to mention hundreds of fun cards to send in the mail.

Stay safe and hang in there my loves. I'm open to making virtual plans! I actually never really enjoyed zoom or skype calls. They are awkward to me but the time has come to fully embrace it use the technology we have! Maybe we should plan a holiday hallmark movie watching party!?
