It's been a long while, I'm sorry for that but I've taken a short break from blogging but now I'm back! I've been going on lots of adventures. Not going anywhere really. Just exploring right here from home. and you can too! 1 year ago we started our quarantine (who remembers my daily blog'antine??) and we learned how to do everything from home including learning, working, socializing with our friends and family. I know we are in the age of social media and really connecting with people all over the world. How many times have you been able to really talk to someone though, online? Yeah we spend hours a day sometimes on intsagram, facebook, twitter, or even tiktock, but are we really having full conversations with people? I think I've felt like being so connected with my social media and blogging that I had so many "friends" all over the place and yeah that sort of is true. However, I missed really getting to know someone though. Once you get older and you are no longer in school or education and maybe even not working with other people so much, you lose those small opportunities to really learn more about another person and the ritual of talking to the same person everyday, even if they aren't your favorite person to talk to.
So I've been spending a lot of my time doing just that. I've been talking to people all over the world, everyday sometimes, and for up to weeks at a time and I've learned so much more than I thought I would. It's been like a social experiment of mine. I also have a lot going on in my life with career changes, business opportunities and new ventures but those haven't been taking up my time as much as they take up energy. As you may or may not know, my husband and I recently started a mortuary transport business and although it keeps us on our toes, I am mostly on call most days and don't leave the house daily like I used to when working outside of my home for someone else. I've missed my random daily communications and I've found a way to get them back, virtually and make a little money and on the side. and let me tell you, I am having the time of my life! but I'm also going out of my comfort zone and learning new things from new people everyday.
It's so important to go out of your comfort zone in order to grow and flex in life. I forgot that for a while. I got tied up in my little routine of celery juice, yoga, and and prayer. I needed to interact with others and push myself to the limits and once I began doing that again, my creativity has skyrocketed. I'm not back to my normal dollhouse miniature, crafty greeting card making self but I'm getting back and that's good. My first step in creativity is always write about it and I'm doing that here now with you.
What things have you done lately that are out of the norm for you? When's the last time you actually listened to a song someone suggests or watched that tv that someone is always raving about? Maybe listen to someone talk about something that normally think is beyond you. Try a new hobby or return to something you once loved. and when you've done that tell me about all about it and let's have some real conversations. You can always reach me on all of my social media sites and my contact form on my website here.
