Merry Christmas eve everyone! What a wonderful day it has been! Eddie got up early to embalm and I was up at 8:30am and had 2 eggs and a keto waffle. Yum! Then, I did my hot girl walk of the day, after feeding my chickens a Christmas eve treat of some apples. When I got home, I did some last minute Christmas preparations. Trimmed the wicks on my candles, did some laundry, washed and folded my napkins for my table settings, and got the guest towels ready for my Mom and Nanny to come visit us in a couple days for Christmas. I made a little soap dish full of my favorite soaps and lotions for them to use as well and take home with them.
Then it was time to shower and get all dolled up for church. I loved my black dress with the bell sleeves, tights with bows on the legs, and a peppermint candy purse. It was pretty warm today for Christmas eve, 45 degrees! I put on just a cute little fuzzy faux fur hoodie as a coat and we went to church at 5pm. We sat next to my friend Michelle, the pastor's wife, and it was loveliest Christmas eve service I've ever been to. Lots of carols of course candle light.
After church we had our dinner reservation at the Artisan, a Christmas eve tradition for us. The menu tonight was AMAZING. I had French onion soup, bass, and champagne drink called Poinsettia. After dinner, we walked a long the luminaire light sidewalks of our neighborhood and took in all of the sights and sounds of the season. A lot of people walking in large groups, wearing Santa hats and yelling Merry Christmas to each other. Walking along the luminaires is another Christmas eve tradition Eddie and I do that I can't live without.
When we got home, we knew Santa would be here any minute, so we put our robes on and I pilled all of my hair on top of my head and strolled out to the hot tub. We light all the candles in our cabana outside and got in for a Christmas eve soak and listened to Christmas music.
When we got back inside, Santa had been here! My stocking is jam packed full and Bean had gotten some good head pats from the head elf himself. We made ourselves some bowls of halo-top ice cream and turned on "It's A Wonderful Life" and that's where we are now.
I hope you sleep well and have the coziest little Christmas yet! I'll see you back here tomorrow!
