It was another long night of our phone ringing off the hook last night (business wise) but the Christmas show must go on! This morning we brought our hearse to a funeral home that was renting it for the day and Eddie went to his massage. I donned my most festive and pink pajamas and turned on all of the Christmas lights for my Mom and Nanny to enjoy. We listened to Christmas records while eating breakfast in the dining room by candle light on this dreary winter day. But we were warm and cozy in our hearts. We spread out in the living room for a major gift exchanging session and boy were we treated with so many blessings! Eddie and I must have been very good this year!
After presents it was time to make Christmas cookies. I had been searching all season for a good keto Christmas cookie recipe (with frosting) and found this wonderful shortbread recipe! Only 1 net carb per cookie! These are delicious people! They smelled divine while baking. Colored frosting and almond extract made me feel like my Christmas cookie tradition was complete.
After cookies, Nanny, Momma and I made and painted our own gift tags. It's a very special treat having my Nanny here, an artist, to give us a private water color lesson. See the photo below. After making our tags, we frosted my cookies and started getting ready for dinner. Eddie made baby back ribs, green beans, macaroni and cheese and sweet breads. I didn't have any macaroni but the meal was still so SO good. Everyone really enjoyed. We played rummikub after dinner and then had cake. We are rounding out the night by watching a Christmas movie, "A Boy Called Christmas". I'll hate for my family to leave tomorrow but I've been so blessed to have them up here 3 times in a row this year!
I'll see you back here tomorrow!
